Jax Youth Poetry Slam, Inc.
was formed to promote literacy, public awareness and critical thinking for at
risk youth. The purpose of Jax Youth
Poetry Slam is to serve as an additional educational tool for underprivileged
youth. To provide a bridge that will
connect their creative and intellectual side to skills needed to be able to be
a critical thinker and great public speaker.
To enable the network of educators and artists to be able to connect
with the youth; this will foster a relationship that will create dialogue
concerning educational gaps and help the youth acquire a sense of importance
and relevance in the world/their community.
