    Acerca de

The Tuolumne River Trust was established in 1981 to help protect and preserve the Tuolumne River and its watershed. The Tuolumne flows 149 miles from the Sierra Nevada mountain range near Yosemite National Park to the San Joaquin River in California's Central Valley, and with the Trust's efforts, 83 miles of it was designated by Congress as a Wild and Scenic River in 1983. In addition to the ample recreational opportunities it provides, the river's watershed supplies the drinking water for several million people in the San Francisco Bay Area. This water supply was threatened when the Rim Fire of 2013 burned over 250,000 acres of the Tuolumne River watershed. The Trust is now working to help restore the native habitat of these areas while promoting water conservation practices within local communities.
