Promoting Awareness, Victim Empowerment (PAVE) is a national nonprofit that is leading the national movement of shattering the silence of sexual violence. PAVE is the only national nonprofit that works both to prevent sexual assault and heal survivors through social advocacy, education and survivor support. PAVE empowers survivors to thrive after trauma and galvanizes communities to end sexual violence. PAVE has trained over 50,000 college students, over 2,500 professionals, and maintains 50 chapters and affiliates across the country. PAVE's work has been featured on many national media outlets including CNN, Today Show, Oprah Winfrey Network and a special edition of 48 Hours on CBS.


PAVE was founded in February 2001 by Angela Rose as a student organization at the University of WI-Madison in response to her own experience of being kidnapped from a shopping mall and sexually assaulted at the age of seventeen. It has since grown into a multi-national 501C3 nonprofit organization. As a result of PAVE's work over the last 20 years, PAVE asked to contribute to on the White House Taskforce to Protect Students from Sexual Assault chaired by Vice President Biden and has provided training to military bases, corporations, and schools across the country and abroad including the University of Oxford in England.
