Green & Low-Carbon
Development Foundation (hereafter
referred to as GDF) is the first non-profit environmental protection
organization aiming at low-carbon development in Shenzhen. Since the
establishment of GDF, it has always followed the principles of being
professional, innovative and highly effective, to establish platform for public
welfare, aggregate social benefit resources, provide solutions to improve
environment and healthy development of the society through scientific and
innovative technological approaches; meanwhile, by forcefully putting advantage
of public welfare into full play, GDF has publicized low-carbon concept,
advocated low-carbon civilization, cultivated sustainable carbon emission
reduction behaviors, organized and motivated international communication on
low-carbon development in order to contribute to the achievement of low-carbon
development.The GDF Council is comprised of well-known national
experts and scholars in the research field of low-carbon development, founders
or senior executives of low-carbon innovation enterprises and green financial
institutions. The supervisors of the foundation possess extensive management
experience in international non-profit organizations. GDF also has an Expert
(Consultant) Committee, an Investment Management committee and an Editorial
Committee. The working teams of the secretariat and its subordinate departments
have overseas education, working background and plentiful experience in project

build up the public welfare platform for international communication and
promotion; promote to establish the cooperative relationships between Shenzhen
and foreign cities on the low-carbon development and innovation; and learn from
foreign advanced experience and lessons, already established contact with 15
European and U.S. subnational governments currently. 3.
Low-Carbon
Technologies
Technological innovation,
including “Carbon Account Management System”, “Voluntary Emission Reduction Certification
System”, “Smart Solid Waste Recycle System”, “Low-Carbon Smart Community Management
System”, “International Low-Carbon Clean Technology Platform System”; “Emissions
Reduction System on Promoting Electric Car Leasing Project” supported by Ministry
of Science and Technology, etc. GDF also devotes to individual low-carbon
behaviors and industrial structural optimization of enterprises researches, to
monitor and calculate non-project carbon emissions, or carbon emission
reduction actions by social organizations or individuals. 4.
Promotion of
Low-Carbon Public Welfare: GDF
has long held or organized “Shenzhen International Low-Carbon City Forum” under
the guidance of the National Development and Reform Commission, “China Charity
Exhibition”, “Green Transportation Forum”, “Green Finance Forum”, “Low-Carbon
City Forum”, “Carbon Trading Forum”, “Green Innovation Forum” and etc. GDF also
held low-carbon public welfare promotion activities such as cooperating with
Shenzhen Traffic Police Bureau to promote “Green Commuting”; construct smart
bicycle kiosks for “Green Riding Program”; cooperating with Shenzhen Municipal Waste
Classification Management Center to promote waste classification and recycling
by placing smart solid waste recycle machines in the city, etc.
