Acerca de

The International Rescue Committee serves refugees and communities victimized by oppression or violent conflict worldwide. Founded in 1933, the IRC is committed to freedom, human dignity and self-reliance. This commitment is expressed in emergency relief, protection of human rights, post-conflict development, resettlement assistance and advocacy.

Students Plus:

The after school program’s main focus is helping students meet their academic objectives, whether it be studying for a math test, finishing a chemistry report, filling out college applications, or increasing their English proficiency through ESL games and activities.

Student Advocacy Due to the trusting relationship between SP staff, students, and their parents, these families look to the SP staff to help them navigate the school system.

SP Semester Project In collaboration with other community-based organizations, SP implements a semester-long program designed to engage students in their community and world. Examples of such projects include a student-directed and created newsletter, photo essays about their lives, and a multimedia exchange. Educational Field Trips Field trips are arranged once a month. Whereas the destinations vary (a beach clean-up, an academic conference, a university scavenger hunt) all trips have an educational focus.
