PHSSC has served the Park Slope and surrounding communities for 43 years by providing a welcoming environment for senior citizens. We serve a low-cost nutritious breakfast and lunch Monday - Friday. Additional programs and activities include but are not limited to: Chair Yoga, Cardio, Tai Chi exercise; massage, dancing, quilting, chorus, crafts, health education, bingo, and trips.
Our mission is to provide seniors with a safe and comfortable space to socialize, and maintain their health and vibrancy. Our members range in age from newly retired people in their 60's to mid-90's. We are a home away from home where comfort and safety are priorities and we welcome people from all ethnic backgrounds and races.
We are a 501-c3 not-for-profit organization funded by the NYC Department for the Aging, and sponsored by St. John-St. Matthew Emanuel Lutheran Church.
