LifeSTARTS Youth & Family Services

LifeSTARTS Youth & Family Services offers in-school, after-school, mentoring, and other family-strengthening programs to over 5000 youth and their families per year. Our service area covers Wards 7 & 8 ("East of the River") in Washington, DC and Prince George’s County. LifeSTARTS intentionally reaches out to young people who others often turn away from. Our staff makes a “heart and mind” connection with even the toughest children because they have similar backgrounds to the youth we serve. The LifeSTARTS mission is to provide mentoring, life skills, coaching, support and advocacy for youth and their families in the communities we serve. Our actions are built upon the conviction that transformation begins with the heart. It is our purpose to encourage individuals to create and cultivate a positive change in their lives and inspire others to do the same.
