One Billion Literates Foundation USA is a registered 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization (EIN 86-2797911), OBLF USA aims to empower individuals and create sustainable change in underprivileged rural communities of India. Together, we are building brighter futures. OBLF USA supports program implementation through its partner organization, OBLF India, driving impactful initiatives in education, healthcare, and livelihoods for underserved rural communities.
OBLF (India) began in 2010 as an organization focused on addressing critical literacy gaps among children in government schools. As we engaged deeply with the communities, it became clear that improving education alone was not enough. Responding to the urgent needs on the ground, OBLF expanded its interventions to include healthcare services and skill training for employment and sustainable livelihoods.
Today, OBLF operates through a holistic, systems-based approach to poverty alleviation, with five core programs focused on education, healthcare, community rehabilitation, women’s empowerment, and livelihoods. Our community-centric model ensures lasting impact by embedding our work within local ecosystems and building capacity for long-term resilience.
