WEAVE works in partnership with ethnic minority people on the Thai-Burma border, believing that encouraging the leadership of women and development of their status benefits the whole community. WEAVE gives women opportunities to improve themselves through education, confidence building and skill development.
WEAVE’s projects attempt to address some of the problems faced by Karen and Karenni women from Burma and their children in key areas of education, health and income. There are four main projects (or departments) within WEAVE: child development (nursery schools), income generation, education materials (mostly in health) and capacity/organizational development.
