PLANIT NOW NFP

P!N has worked with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration/National Weather Service (NOAA), the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and the National Education Association (NEA) to develop the Young Meteorologist Program (YMP), a fun, innovative, digital evolution of the Owlie Skywarn coloring book used by the NWS since the 1970s.

In 2016, YMP WeatherFEST rallies will bring together stakeholders in your area who know that community-based severe weather preparedness will be key in the years to come. The rally uses fun characters and important science programs developed with The National Weather Service to promote community-wide planning in advance of severe weather events. The characters are a part of the free, digital game THE YOUNG METEOROLOGIST PROGRAM. The game's star is NWS weather mascot Owlie Skywarn. He's a severe weather prep hero who helps kids lead the charge for parents, teacher and others to get prepared for severe weather, and learn the science behind storms which will decrease uneducated fears about what people can and can't do to prepare for them.
