The Arc of Appalachia is a land preservation organization seeking to restore and protect the Eastern Forest and bring back wilderness into the hearts and minds of people living in the once wild East.
We are accomplishing this by:
- Creating one of the largest bio-reserves in the eastern part of the United States.
- Establishing an education center for natural history that will also foster a sense of regional eco-identity.
- Providing a place for communion in nature where one can leave the trappings of the urban world and walk in contemplative solitude.
- Linking up other preservation groups and preservation minded people through our monthly e-newsletters, annual newsletters, education workshops and land steward program.
- Creating a truly grassroots non-profit with our extensive volunteer and outreach program.
