The JFK Senior Center, a neighborhood site of the Durham Center for Senior Life (DCSL), is seeking a volunteer Choir Leader to help us start a fun and welcoming community choir for adults ages 55+.
We are looking for someone who:
- Enjoys music and working with older adults
- Can lead familiar songs, warm-ups, and simple choir practices
- Is encouraging, patient, and enthusiastic
- Can volunteer 1–2 times per month (or more, if desired)
Formal music education is not required! We welcome church music leaders, choir members, music students, retired musicians, or anyone with experience leading group singing.
Our goal is simple: bring people together through music, fellowship, and fun!

After you indicate your interest through Idealist, our staff will reach out within a week to share waivers and schedule a one-on-one site orientation go over the responsibilities and scheduling.
