The Museum of Indian Culture is seeking a Volunteer Social Media Coordinator to help share the voices, stories, and history of Indigenous peoples with a broader audience. This role plays a key part in keeping our community informed, engaged, and inspired.
What You’ll Do
- Create and schedule engaging social media posts across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
- Highlight museum exhibits, events, and ongoing projects
- Share interesting and educational content about Indigenous history and culture
- Keep social media accounts active, consistent, and informative
- Post and update museum events on community calendars and listing sites
- Collaborate with museum staff to align messaging and upcoming programming
What We’re Looking For
- Strong interest in storytelling, social media, and community engagement
- Comfortable creating content (text, basic graphics, or reposting existing materials)
- Organized and able to maintain a consistent posting schedule
- Respectful interest in Indigenous culture, history, and education
- Experience with social media management is helpful but not required
