    Parent and Teacher Liason Lead

    Time Commitment: 1–2 hours per week

    Location: Hybrid

    Overview: The Parent & Teacher Liaison Lead designs the organization’s central problem or challenge and leads collaboration between parents and teachers to address it. This role ensures strong communication, shared understanding, and active engagement from both groups, creating a unified approach to supporting youth and advancing the organization’s mission.

    Key Responsibilities

    Design Core Problem — Develop the central challenge or theme the organization will focus on each cycle, ensuring it aligns with youth needs and program goals.

    Facilitate Parent Engagement — Create clear, accessible opportunities for parents to participate, give feedback, and collaborate on initiatives.

    Coordinate Teacher Involvement — Build strong relationships with educators, gather their insights, and integrate their expertise into programming.

    Maintain Communication Channels — Ensure consistent, transparent communication between parents, teachers, and the organization through email, meetings, and updates.

    Support Program Implementation — Work with organizational leadership to ensure parent and teacher contributions are incorporated into activities and events.

    Gather Feedback — Collect and synthesize input from families and educators to improve programming and strengthen collaboration.

    Participation — Ensure all voices—especially those from underrepresented or quieter families—are welcomed and included.

    Qualifications:

    • Able to communicate clearly and compassionately with parents, teachers, and youth across different communication styles.
    • Background in education, youth programs, community work, or parent-facing roles is helpful.
    • Capable of managing schedules, coordinating input from multiple stakeholders, and keeping communication organized.
    • Comfortable facilitating group discussions, gathering feedback, and building consensus.
    • Able to work respectfully with families and educators from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
    • Skilled at identifying core issues, synthesizing input, and shaping a clear problem statement for the organization.
    • Consistently meets weekly time commitments and maintains communication with stakeholders.
    • Able to participate in both virtual and in‑person meetings as needed.
