Marin Water Frog Docent Program 2026

The Foothill Yellow-Legged Frog is endemic to California and Marin County has some of the strongest populations in the state. The Marin populations of foothill yellow-legged frogs, while still designated as a Species of Special Concern state and federally, are not listed as Threatened or Endangered like the other 5 genetic populations in other areas of California.

View this StoryMap to learn about the conservation efforts you can be a part of. We need your help to steward these spaces and help the public understand the importance of protecting our local biodiversity.

If you enjoy being outdoors and sharing your love of the outdoors with others, consider joining the Frog Docent Program at Marin Water! Our program begins in March and goes until May for the duration of the spawning season. If this sounds interesting to you, please go to our Volunteer Sign Up Form to sign yourself up for the Frog Docent Training and also get more information about the program by clicking on the Frog Docent Volunteer Position Description link.

    Attending both trainings is mandatory!

Thursday, March 12th (6:00-7:30 pm online) AND Saturday, March 14th (10 am-3 pm field visit)
