    Who We Are

Human Rights Research Center (HRRC) is an established 501(c)(3) nonprofit that brings a multidisciplinary approach to human rights and seeks to bridge the gap between academic research and the wider public. We educate through facts, advocate using our research findings, and take action to implement change.

    Who You Are

You are an architect of resources and a storyteller of impact. You understand that fundraising is not just about "asking for money”; it is about inviting people to invest in a safer, more transparent future.

You likely have experience in nonprofit development, major gifts, or digital growth. You are comfortable navigating the complexities of IRS compliance for 501(c)(3)s while maintaining the agility of a startup. You believe that if people have the right tools and a robust nonviolent infrastructure, they can change the world—and you know how to mobilize the capital required to build those tools.

    What You’ll Do

As the Volunteer Fundraising Officer, you will:

    • Develop a Holistic Fundraising Strategy: Create and oversee a multi-channel development plan including major gifts, digital grassroots campaigns, and foundation grants.
    • Identify and Cultivate Major Donors: Research and build relationships with high-net-worth individuals and philanthropic organizations aligned with civil liberties, anti-corruption, and human rights.
    • Event Strategy: Conceptualize and coordinate virtual or in-person dialogues on human rights and donor events that showcase our latest investigations.
    • Financial Stewardship: Work with the executive team to ensure all fundraising activities are donor-centric, transparent, and fully compliant with nonprofit regulations.

    Qualifications

    • At least 2-4 years in nonprofit fundraising, sales, or business development.
    • Ability to build a "case for support" that resonates with diverse donor tiers.
    • Exceptional writing and presentation skills; you can take complex intelligence data and turn it into a compelling narrative for a donor.
    • A deep, personal commitment to accessibility and advancing human rights.
    • While not required, an existing network in the philanthropic or social justice space is a significant plus.

    Compensation and Commitment

This is a volunteer, virtual opportunity with the expectation of 4-6 hours of work per week. At least a six-month time commitment is required.

    Benefits of Volunteering with Us
