Pele Counseling and Consulting is seeking volunteers to support The Pause at Pele 5K, a community-centered charity run raising funds and awareness for restorative wellness experiences for mothers experiencing stress, burnout, and emotional exhaustion.
About The Pause at Pele
The Pause at Pele is a restorative initiative that creates intentional space for overwhelmed mothers to rest, restore, and reconnect before burnout escalates to crisis.
The initiative is designed as a prevention-focused program that promotes restoration, emotional reset, and overall wellness before it becomes a crisis.
Through The Pause at Pele 5K, we are bringing the community together to raise awareness, support maternal wellness, and help create restorative experiences for mothers.
About the Volunteer Opportunity
We are looking for dependable, compassionate, and community-minded volunteers to help make the 5K a safe, welcoming, and well-organized experience for participants and families.
Volunteers may support one of the following areas:
Registration & Participant Support
- Participant check-in and registration
- Greeting and welcoming participants
- Distributing race materials and participant bags
- Providing general event information
Start/Finish Line
- Setting up the start/finish area
- Assisting with race-day organization
- Supporting participant flow
- Teardown after the event
Hydration Station
- Setting up and maintaining hydration stations
- Distributing water to participants
- Keeping the area organized and stocked
First Aid & Emergency Communication
- Supporting the designated first-aid area
- Helping direct participants to appropriate assistance when needed
- Supporting communication with the event team during emergencies
Medical care will be provided only by appropriately qualified personnel. General volunteers will not be expected to provide medical treatment.
Course / Ride Marshals
- Helping guide participants along the designated route
- Providing directions and encouragement
- Supporting participant safety and awareness along the course
- Communicating concerns to the event leadership team
Breakfast Area
- Assisting with breakfast setup and service
Assisting with participant needs
Social Media & Event Support
- Capturing event moments through photos and short videos
- Supporting live social media content
- Helping highlight the event, volunteers, participants, and community impact
- Following Pele’s guidelines regarding participant privacy and photo/video consent
Who Can Volunteer?

No previous 5K experience is required for most volunteer positions. Volunteers should be dependable, respectful, friendly, and willing to work as part of a team.
Some safety-related roles may require specific qualifications or training.
Volunteer Commitment
Volunteers will be assigned to specific roles and shifts based on event needs and availability.
Estimated commitment: 3–5 hours on race day.
Additional information about volunteer orientation, assigned roles, meeting times, and event-day procedures will be provided after registration.

Important Information
This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity.
Volunteers will receive information and instructions regarding their assigned role before the event.
We are especially interested in volunteers who can commit to being present, dependable, and engaged throughout their assigned shift.
