At West Houston Assistance Ministries, we host two Drive Thru Food Fairs on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month from 7:00am - 12:00pm. We need 25 volunteers to assist with any of the following: add fresh produce and dry goods to boxes for our clients without cars, mark car windows, open trunks, direct traffic, load fresh produce and dry goods into trunks of cars, and light clean up. We accept 12–13-year-olds with a parent or guardian, and 14 and older can volunteer on their own. Volunteers need to be able to stand and walk for up to five hours. WHAM serves 250 + families.
Things to know:
We are on the corner of Rogerdale and Meadowglen Lane and have a black metal fence.
Enter the parking lot from Meadowglen Lane and park along the fence line.
Enter the building on the backside by the open field.
A Staff member will meet you there, get you checked in, give you a neon vest and your assignment.
Volunteer as often as you like.
Volunteers create their WHAM volunteer Account here . If 18 or older, you are required to complete a background check after you create your WHAM Volunteer Account. Look for "initiate background check".
If you are interested in scheduling a group event, please email me at patrice.stpe@whamministries.org.
