Mentor a Foster Child in Florida's Dependency Court System

You can help, take action, and make a difference in a child's

life by joining the Florida Guardian ad Litem Office team. No legal experience needed!

In Hillsborough County, there are more than 1,500 foster children who are currently in the Dependency System. If you have been considering ways that you could give back to your community then we would love to speak with you about mentoring the abused, abandoned, and neglected children we help represent.

Information Sessions are held weekly via Zoom. Once we receive your inquiry we will provide you with the Zoom log in information.

    MORE INFO...

Although every child appointed to the Florida Guardian ad

Litem Office is assigned a Guardian ad Litem Attorney and a

child welfare professional, not every youth has a mentor on

their team. This is where you can help. Learn how to get

    involved at www.guardianadlitem.org.

    BACKGROUND:

For more than 30 years, the Florida Guardian ad Litem Office has exclusively represented children in the court system. This multidisciplinary team includes a Guardian ad Litem Attorney, a trained Guardian ad Litem volunteer (if one is available), and a Certified Child Advocate Manager, through the collaboration of our team we are able to provide quality legal representation for abused, neglected, and abandoned children while assisting the child in expressing their needs and wishes. Our unique approach allows us to support the whole child, addressing their physical, educational, mental, emotional, social, and legal needs.

The Florida Guardian ad Litem Office is committed to actively recruiting volunteers to provide support and representation for children in the Dependency Court system.
