Are you searching for a way to make a positive difference in the lives of others? Do you love being the reason behind someone’s joy? Signature Hospice invites you to share your compassionate heart with patients and families in your community. Many of our patients will benefit from your presence and warm smile.

The Hospice Companion Volunteer includes many things, playing music, reading prayer, poetry, stories, enjoying pet videos, watching a movie together, bringing in nature, pet therapy, or holding a hand in gentle silence. You will also function as an advocate for those who are unable to let their needs known or help with simple things like finding the remote to watch their favorite show. Hospice is about quality of life in each moment. You can help bring in this quality.

As a hospice volunteer, we ask for a minimum of 1 hour/week. This includes visiting with an assigned patient and completing visit notes.

There are three levels included in orientation. Training includes learning about hospice, psychosocial care/emotional support, and volunteer visit guidelines. Training is at your pace. We follow all CMS/CDC/State guidelines on safety, testing, background/driver checks, and TB test.

The first step in your volunteer journey is to contact me. We will schedule a visit and meet at your favorite coffee shop. We will talk about hospice and what volunteering entails. Let's start the conversation.
