The Habitat Charlotte Region Community Ambassador is a volunteer position that serves as the “boots on the ground” for Habitat, representing the organization at community events, neighborhood gatherings, and partner activities. This outward-facing role helps raise awareness of Habitat’s mission while connecting community members to meaningful ways to get involved through volunteerism, donations, programs, and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
-Represent Habitat at community events, festivals, and outreach opportunities
-Share Habitat’s mission, impact, and current initiatives with the public
-Educate community members on ways to engage, including volunteering, donating, programming, and advocacy
-Build authentic relationships with residents, partners, and community leaders
-Serve as a welcoming and knowledgeable point of contact for Habitat in the community
-Gather insights and feedback from the community and share with staff as appropriate
Volunteer Requirements & Qualifications
-Comfortable speaking with individuals and groups in public settings
-Passion for affordable housing and equitable homeownership
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-Availability for flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
-Reliable transportation to attend community events
-Dependable, friendly, and community-oriented
