Please note: All volunteers must be at least 18 years old, fluent in English, and have completed high school or the equivalent.
Descripción
LiteracyCNY is looking for volunteers who want to teach literacy skills to adults. Interested volunteers follow a course outline to complete online training modules at home, meeting with LiteracyCNY staff at regular intervals to check-in and receive their student assignment.
- Volunteer tutors must have computer skills in order to complete training and receive communications from LiteracyCNY.
- Volunteer tutors agree to either meet with their assigned adult student remotely, or in a public place, such as a library. Most students live in the City of Syracuse, so volunteers should have availability to tutor in the city.
- Volunteer tutors must be able to meet at least once a week with their student, at a consistent time.
- Volunteer tutors agree to report monthly questionnaire regarding their tutoring activity.
