    Description

Tutor 1:1 Adult Basic Literacy/English Language Learners

LiteracyCNY is looking for volunteers who want to teach literacy skills to adults. Interested volunteers follow a course outline to complete online training modules at home, meeting with LiteracyCNY staff at regular intervals to check-in and receive their student assignment.

    • Volunteer tutors must have computer skills in order to complete training and receive communications from LiteracyCNY.
    • Volunteer tutors agree to either meet with their assigned adult student remotely, or in a public place, such as a library. Most students live in the City of Syracuse, so volunteers should have availability to tutor in the city.
    • Volunteer tutors must be able to meet at least once a week with their student, at a consistent time.
    • Volunteer tutors agree to report monthly questionnaire regarding their tutoring activity.
