Director of Marketing (Volunteer)

Maker Mindz is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering K-12 students through hands-on STEM education, interactive tech tools, and inclusive learning opportunities. We bridge educational gaps by providing engaging, accessible programming in technology, engineering, and digital literacy.

We are searching for a creative Director of Marketing to elevate the visibility of Maker Mindz. You will oversee high-level digital marketing direction, ensuring our outreach across social platforms, newsletter updates, and web channels reflects our core mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Marketing Strategy: Outline a lightweight content and campaign strategy across social channels (LinkedIn, Instagram, X) to highlight programs, student impact, and updates.
• Brand Consistency: Ensure messaging and visual assets align with Maker Mindz's educational mission.
• Storytelling & Awareness: Draft or review announcement posts, press updates, and community highlights to drive engagement.
• Governance & Syncs: Attend quarterly leadership check-ins to review reach metrics and sync with fundraising and partnership efforts.

Qualifications & Skills

• Background or strong interest in digital marketing, social media management, communications, or graphic design.
• Ability to craft engaging copy for non-profit audiences.
• Familiarity with social scheduling tools or basic design platforms (e.g., Canva) is a plus.
• Enthusiasm for promoting STEM education and youth technology literacy.

Compensation

This is a volunteer opportunity. Current compensation does not include a 401(k), employee pension, health insurance, vacation pay, sick pay, or other fringe benefits. However, this role provides valuable leadership, board-level governance, and non-profit management experience that is highly beneficial for both academic and industry career pathways.

Work Authorization
