Volunteer position. Time commitment: 5-7 hours per week.
The Graphic Designer is responsible for creating graphics for marketing and education to be disseminated via IAABC Foundation social media accounts and other organizational platforms.
Responsibilities
- Familiarizing with all IAABC Foundation offerings which includes but is not limited to courses, events, the Journal and other projects
- Creating graphics with a marketing and social media eye, based on the relevant organizational guidelines, with an understanding of animal behavior and evidence-based practices
- Preparing graphics in formats suited for each IAABC Foundation channel and post type or other organizational platform
- Adhering to operational workflows and the communication / marketing strategy
- Adhering to the organizational social media guidelines
- Maintaining the brand voice and brand integrity across all platforms
- Contributing to the planning and messaging of organization initiatives
- Working with the team to respond to social media emergencies
- Maintaining a consistent presence by participating in team meetups and ongoing communication in team Slack channels as needed
Job Requirements - Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Familiarity with social media platforms and social media marketing best practices and trends
- Knowledge of best practices in inclusive and accessible communications operations
- Strong graphics editing skills using Canva or equivalent
- Technological skills including familiarity with Google Workspace applications
- Attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks
- Organizational skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work in a positive and encouraging manner
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, diverse, international team environment
- Team communication using Slack
- Availability to volunteer 5-7 hours per week
