Volunteer HR Manager

Overview:
We’re looking for a doer and a builder. You’ll help manage and coordinate the full volunteer HR function-from intake to setup to compliance. You’ll guide team members, troubleshoot issues, and build smooth systems that make every volunteer feel equipped and engaged.
What You’ll Do:
Receive and route volunteer applications
Oversee intake, placement, and onboarding steps
Manage the onboarding and exit support volunteer
Ensure compliance with HR documents (agreements, waivers, etc.)
Manage background screenings (where applicable)
Collaborate with the President on HR strategy
Track volunteer flow, gaps, and retention
Provide leadership to help HR run smoothly
You’re Great At:
Managing systems and people with care
Seeing the big picture and executing the details
Following and building procedures
Communicating clearly with cross-functional teams
Working independently with accountability
Bonus if you:
Have experience in nonprofit HR or People Ops
Are familiar with Google Workspace, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Airtable, or HR tools
Can create or adapt onboarding documents
