The Carter Burden Network promotes the well-being of older adults, 60 and older through a continuum of services, advocacy, arts and culture, health and wellness and volunteer programs, all oriented to individual, family and community needs. We are dedicated to supporting the efforts of older people to live safely and with dignity.
We are looking for compassionate, patient, and committed individuals to help older adults with their groceries! Volunteers may help make grocery lists, shop at the supermarket and deliver groceries to older adult who are homebound and living in the Upper East Side and East Harlem catchment area. This is a great way to foster connections with older adults and serves the crucial function of ensuring that older adults have food in their homes. Volunteers are required to commit to assisting their older adult friend for a minimum of six months and to meet at least once per month, or as needed.
