A&N Career Services Project is a structured career development and workforce mobility initiative advancing economic mobility and access to opportunity. Through cohort-based programming, employer engagement, and systems-informed design, the Project supports individuals navigating career transitions while strengthening pathways to meaningful and sustainable work.
As the organization continues its launch and infrastructure build phase, disciplined executive coordination, strategic research, and aligned communication are essential to sustaining momentum across partnerships, programming, governance, and community engagement.
Role Overview
The Executive Operations Lead serves as the primary strategic and operational support partner to the Executive Director.
This is a high-trust, right-hand role requiring discretion, independent judgment, and executive presence. The volunteer will help protect executive focus by preparing high-quality materials, conducting in-depth research, organizing strategic priorities, and ensuring consistent alignment across internal and external engagements.
This role is well-suited for someone who thrives in executive environments, thinks critically, communicates with precision, and understands how to operate with professionalism in proximity to leadership decision-making.
Atlanta-based participation is required.
Volunteer Engagement Format
This role is Atlanta-based with a virtual-first structure. Most coordination, communication, research, and preparation work will occur remotely using shared tools and documentation.
Atlanta-based volunteers benefit from proximity to leadership, local partnerships, conferences, and team engagement — providing direct exposure to how a mission-driven initiative operates and scales in real time.
What You Will Do
Direct Executive Support
- Coordinate executive calendar and engagement preparation
- Draft and refine executive-level communications and structured memos
- Prepare executive briefing documents, talking points, and presentation materials
- Maintain organized tracking of executive priorities and strategic commitments
Strategic Research & Analysis
- Conduct in-depth research on workforce trends, industry developments, compliance standards, wage and labor laws, and emerging legislation
- Monitor relevant policy or regulatory updates affecting workforce and related industries
- Prepare concise research briefs and executive summaries to support decision-making
- Support preparation for employer, funder, conference, and community partner engagements
Executive Representation & Alignment
- Step into select internal meetings in the Executive Director’s absence to communicate aligned messaging and expectations
- Reinforce documented priorities and support disciplined follow-through across leadership initiatives
External Engagement Preparation
- Develop polished slide decks, one-pagers, executive summaries, and briefing materials for conferences and stakeholder meetings
- Ensure all external-facing materials reflect clarity, professionalism, and brand alignment
- Represent the organization with poise and professionalism in select Atlanta-based settings when appropriate
