    Description

Executive Operations Lead (Volunteer) (Atlanta or surround City Required)

    About A&N Career Services Project

A&N Career Services Project is a structured career development and workforce mobility initiative advancing economic mobility and access to opportunity. Through cohort-based programming, employer engagement, and systems-informed design, the Project supports individuals navigating career transitions while strengthening pathways to meaningful and sustainable work.

As the organization continues its launch and infrastructure build phase, disciplined executive coordination, strategic research, and aligned communication are essential to sustaining momentum across partnerships, programming, governance, and community engagement.

    Role Overview

The Executive Operations Lead serves as the primary strategic and operational support partner to the Executive Director.

This is a high-trust, right-hand role requiring discretion, independent judgment, and executive presence. The volunteer will help protect executive focus by preparing high-quality materials, conducting in-depth research, organizing strategic priorities, and ensuring consistent alignment across internal and external engagements.

This role is well-suited for someone who thrives in executive environments, thinks critically, communicates with precision, and understands how to operate with professionalism in proximity to leadership decision-making.

    Atlanta-based participation is required.

    Volunteer Engagement Format

This role is Atlanta-based with a virtual-first structure. Most coordination, communication, research, and preparation work will occur remotely using shared tools and documentation.

Atlanta-based volunteers benefit from proximity to leadership, local partnerships, conferences, and team engagement — providing direct exposure to how a mission-driven initiative operates and scales in real time.

    What You Will Do

    Direct Executive Support

    • Coordinate executive calendar and engagement preparation
    • Draft and refine executive-level communications and structured memos
    • Prepare executive briefing documents, talking points, and presentation materials
    • Maintain organized tracking of executive priorities and strategic commitments

    Strategic Research & Analysis

    • Conduct in-depth research on workforce trends, industry developments, compliance standards, wage and labor laws, and emerging legislation
    • Monitor relevant policy or regulatory updates affecting workforce and related industries
    • Prepare concise research briefs and executive summaries to support decision-making
    • Support preparation for employer, funder, conference, and community partner engagements

    Executive Representation & Alignment

    • Step into select internal meetings in the Executive Director’s absence to communicate aligned messaging and expectations
    • Reinforce documented priorities and support disciplined follow-through across leadership initiatives

    External Engagement Preparation

    • Develop polished slide decks, one-pagers, executive summaries, and briefing materials for conferences and stakeholder meetings
    • Ensure all external-facing materials reflect clarity, professionalism, and brand alignment
    • Represent the organization with poise and professionalism in select Atlanta-based settings when appropriate

More than one volunteer may be selected for this role based on project needs.

You Will Be a Strong Fit If You

    • Demonstrate exceptional written communication and can draft polished, executive-level materials with clarity and discretion
    • Are highly organized, proactive, and able to anticipate needs before they are expressed
    • Can synthesize complex research into concise, actionable summaries
    • Exercise sound judgment in environments requiring confidentiality and executive presence
    • Thrive in a fast-moving, launch-stage environment where initiative is valued
    • Are confident stepping into meetings to communicate aligned messaging and reinforce strategic direction
    • Value being a trusted, behind-the-scenes partner who strengthens executive effectiveness
    • Are based in Atlanta or surrounding areas and able to participate in select in-person engagements

    What You Will Gain

    • Direct exposure to executive leadership and organizational decision-making within a growing workforce initiative
    • Experience conducting strategic research that informs leadership direction
    • Participation in select meetings, conferences, and stakeholder engagements
    • Portfolio-ready experience in executive research, briefing development, and operations support (where appropriate and approved)
    • Professional references upon successful completion of the cohort
    • Meaningful contribution during a foundational stage of organizational growth
