Join Mid Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group on the King County Parks-owned West Sammamish River Trail to restore salmon habitat.
We will spend the event time digging up the roots of invasive species growing on the riverbank, and then planting native trees and shrubs that will grow into healthy habitat in the spaces we clear. We will add blue grow-tubes to all plants to protect them from deer grazing and add mulch rings to insulate their roots.
Upon signing up you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive another email on March 18th, the Wednesday before the event with event details (parking, event location, packing list, etc.).
For participants under 18: if you plan to volunteer without your parent/ guardian and this is your first time volunteering with Mid Sound Fisheries, you need to print and have your parent sign 2 waivers.
Youth waivers are available on Mid Sound's website here: https://www.midsoundfisheries.org/west-sammamish-river-trail-revegetation/
Please bring the Mid Sound Youth Waiver and the King County Parks Youth Waiver with you to the event!
The restoration site is located on a stretch of river next to an office complex off of Redmond-Woodinville Rd NE. Please park at the Summit Imaging parking lot as we have permission to use their spaces for events. The meeting spot is a 1 minute walk from the parking spots. Directions will also be included in the pre-event email on 3/18.
