We are seeking a caring and patient volunteer to provide companionship and social connection for an older adult living in a memory care setting.

The participant benefits from quiet social interaction and may communicate nonverbally at times. A volunteer who enjoys spending time outdoors, talking about books, sharing simple activities, or offering a calm and friendly presence would be a wonderful match.

Volunteer Activities May Include:

• Providing companionship through regular visits
• Engaging in simple conversations and social interaction
• Reading aloud or sharing books and stories
• Accompanying the participant on short outdoor walks or enjoying outdoor settings when appropriate
• Offering a supportive and friendly presence

Volunteer Qualifications:

• Patient, compassionate, and dependable
• Comfortable interacting with older adults experiencing communication or memory challenges
• Able to engage respectfully using verbal and nonverbal communication
• Complete Providence volunteer onboarding requirements
