    The Mission:

We are building a specialized Rehab Team and are looking for 3 to 4 experienced Animal Trainers (covering both dogs and cats). Many of our "inmates" come to us stressed, under-socialized, or lacking basic manners after surviving the shelter system. Your job is to assess their needs, implement training plans, and help them become the best, most adoptable versions of themselves.

    What You Will Do:

    • Canine Rehab:

Work with our yard dogs on leash manners, basic obedience, impulse control, and overcoming reactivity or fear-based behaviors.

    • Feline Rehab:

Work with our cats on litter box habits, overstimulation, confidence-building for shy or feral-leaning cats, and appropriate play.

    • Team Leadership:

Guide our volunteer "Yard Crew" and socializers on how to correctly and consistently handle specific animals to reinforce your training.

    • Profile Building:

Provide updates on behavioral milestones to our media and promotion teams so they can accurately market each animal's "Inmate File" to potential adopters.

    What We Are Looking For:

    • Proven experience in dog or cat training, behavior modification, or professional rehabilitation.
    • A deep understanding of animal body language and fear-free/positive reinforcement techniques.
    • Patience, consistency, and a calm energy, especially when working with highly stressed or traumatized animals.
    • Reliability to commit to a consistent on-site schedule to ensure training continuity.

    The Impact:

Behavioral issues are the number one reason animals lose their homes or struggle to find new ones. By giving our inmates the skills they need to navigate the outside world, you are directly preventing returns, securing lifelong adoptions, and making space for us to save the next life.
