Become a Hospice Volunteer – Your Presence Matters
Descripción
Descripción
A simple visit can make someone's day.
Pioneer Valley Hospice & Palliative Care is seeking compassionate volunteers to provide companionship and support to patients and families throughout Franklin, Hampshire, and Hampden Counties.
No medical experience is needed—just kindness, empathy, and a willingness to listen.
As a volunteer, you might:
- Visit with patients in their homes or care facilities
- Read, play cards, listen to music, or simply share conversation
- Provide respite so caregivers can take a short break
- Assist with office projects or special events if direct patient visits aren't the right fit
We provide comprehensive training, ongoing education, and continued support. Volunteers choose assignments that fit their interests, schedule, and comfort level.
All volunteers complete an orientation and training program, health screening, background check, and required onboarding before being matched with an assignment.
Whether you can give a few hours a month or a few hours each week, your time can bring comfort, connection, and dignity to someone during an important stage of life.
Make a difference—one visit at a time.
We welcome adults of all backgrounds who are caring, dependable, and ready to serve their community.
