Role Summary: The Front Desk Volunteer serves as the first point of contact for visitors, clients, and community members. This role is essential for creating a welcoming and professional environment while providing administrative and clerical support to staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls and route them to appropriate staff or take messages
- Provide basic information about the organization’s services and programs
- Monitor visitor sign-in/out procedures for security and safety
- Assist with light administrative tasks
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area
- Support staff with scheduling appointments or distributing forms
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Dependable, punctual, and professional demeanor
- Comfortable using phones, computers, and office equipment
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Basic computer literacy
- Friendly and calm under pressure
- Speakers of other languages are highly encouraged but not required. (Arabic, Dari, French, Tigrinya, Amharic)
Requirements:
- Completion of all onboarding paperwork and training
- Background check required
- Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older
- Commitment to volunteering once a week for 4 hours for 6 months
- Record hours volunteered and submit to LCSNW staff at the end of each month
- Disclosure of any dual relationships. Volunteer interacts with clients outside of LCSNW setting
