Senior Advisory Committee Liaison to the Board - Shared-Equity Senior Housing Nonprofit
Descripción
Descripción
Boomers Collaborative Foundation is an Austin-based nonprofit advancing a mixed-use, shared-equity housing model that helps older adults age in place together with dignity, stability, and mutual support. We are moving from founder-led development into broader board and volunteer leadership, and we are seeking committed volunteers who want to help build the systems, relationships, and community engagement needed to bring this model forward. We are looking for people who care about this work and are willing to learn with us. Relevant experience is helpful, but passion, steadiness, and follow-through matter deeply.
We seek an Austin-area senior age 50 or older to work alongside our Senior Engagement Committee Lead and serve as liaison between our developing Senior Advisory Committee and the Boomers Collaborative Foundation Board.
This person will attend monthly Board meetings as a nonvoting participant, help ensure that older adults remain directly involved in shaping our work, and carry information and perspectives between the Senior Advisory Committee and the Board. The liaison will also assist with community outreach, educational events, listening sessions, surveys, follow-up with interested seniors, and the continuing development of the Senior Advisory Committee. Once the committee is established, the liaison will serve as an active member and participate in its meetings.
Our work focuses on older adults who want to age in place together rather than isolated and alone, especially those who may have modest incomes, some home equity or savings, and too few realistic housing options between subsidized housing and unaffordable market-rate choices.
This volunteer opportunity will help us stand up an important institution capable of carrying a new model of affordable, resident-owned senior housing from vision through development and into lasting operation.
This is currently a volunteer position. Once the Senior Advisory Committee is established, this liaison position may include a small monthly stipend, subject to Board approval.
