The American Cancer Society’s Discovery Shops are unique resale stores that turn donated goods into funds that support cancer research, patient services, advocacy, and education.
We are seeking In-Store Volunteers to support daily shop operations and help create a welcoming experience for customers and donors. This is an on-site, hands-on role that makes a direct impact in the local community.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers and donors
- Sort, price, and merchandise donated items
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor and back room
- Support store promotions and special events
- Work collaboratively with staff and fellow volunteers
Qualifications
- Friendly, dependable, and team-oriented
- Comfortable standing, moving, and light lifting during shifts
- Willing to follow store procedures and safety guidelines
- No retail experience required — training is provided
- Must meet American Cancer Society volunteer onboarding requirements
Time Commitment
- Flexible scheduling
- Shifts typically range from 4 hours
- Weekday and weekend opportunities available
