Our Family Coalition (OFC), a 30-year-old Bay Area nonprofit that supports LGBTQ+ children and families through support, education, and advocacy.
OFC is preparing for our annual Oakland Pride Family Garden this Sunday, August 16, at Children’s Fairyland, and we are currently seeking 10-15 volunteers to help us bring the event to life.

Children’s Fairyland – Teddy Bear Picnic Area
699 Bellevue Ave., Oakland, CA 94610
Volunteer support needed: approximately 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Family Garden: 12:00–3:00 p.m.
The Family Garden will offer free, family-friendly activities for LGBTQ+ families, children, caregivers, and allies, including:
- Tie-dye
- STEM activities
- Arts and crafts
- Plant Your Own Garden
- Bubble play
- Family Reading & Recharge Corner
- Giveaways and more
Volunteers would assist with setup and breakdown, welcoming families, supporting activity stations, keeping supplies organized, and helping the event run smoothly throughout the day. Lunch, coffee, pastries, fresh fruit, snacks, and drinks will be provided.

Cómo participar como voluntario(a) en esta oportunidad
Guest Welcome & Direction: Greet families as they arrive, help direct guests to the Family Garden and activity stations, and answer basic event questions.
Registration Support: Assist families with event check-in and registration and help keep the entrance area organized.
Activity Station Support: Help facilitate and demonstrate family-friendly activities such as bubble making, Plant Your Own Garden, tie-dye, arts and crafts, and other hands-on activities.
Family Reading & Recharge Corner: Help keep the space welcoming and organized, restock books and materials, and assist families as needed.
Supply & Event Support: Restock activity supplies, keep stations tidy, distribute giveaways, and provide general support throughout the event.
Set-Up & Breakdown: Help set up tables, activity stations, signage, and supplies before the event and assist with cleanup and packing materials afterward.
