Join the Founding Team of the Middle Majority Movement
Most Americans want the same basic things: leaders who listen and a government that solves practical problems. We are not getting it, because our electoral system has destroyed majority representation.
Gerrymandering has created a situation in which 7 percent of voters elect 87 percent of Congress. More than 80% of congressional districts are safe for one party, so the primary is the only contest that matters. This means that representatives owe their jobs to a small, activated minority and their donors. MMM will subvert gerrymandering by giving the middle majority the tools to outvote the activated base. When winning candidates owe their jobs to the majority that nominated them, the incentive structure flips — and suddenly Congress becomes able to address the issues that concern most Americans: safe schools, health care, good jobs, and fiscal responsibility.
The Middle Majority Movement is a national civic association building the tools and field infrastructure to enable local civic organizations to coordinate and make this happen. We're in the pre-launch phase and are proving the model this cycle. We are looking for people who want to help build something that will transform American politics and government, restoring it to a true representative republic.
Who We're Looking For
We welcome volunteers at every level of engagement:
Community Organizers and Field Volunteers — If you're ready to do the unglamorous, essential work of civic life — connecting, building relationships, hosting conversations, identifying mutual interests, mobilizing voters — we want to hear from you. Prior organizing experience is welcome but not required. Commitment, follow-through, and love of your community matter most.
Civic Leaders and Organization Representatives — If you lead or are active in a civic, professional, faith-based, main-street business, or neighborhood organization, you have latent power to choose a Congressperson who will represent you and the middle majority. MMM will provide you the tools and infrastructure to help you exercise that power. We are looking for connectors who can listen deeply to communities currently underserved by partisan politics and who can initiate activities in their Congressional district.
Professional Skills Volunteers — We have immediate needs in:
Core Team Members — We are seeking people who find meaning in building something truly significant. Core team roles involve regular coordination, strategic input, and hands-on execution. Technical skills are an asset; a genuine drive to develop them is equally valuable.
Informed Citizens and Ambassadors — Even if you're not ready to take on a formal role, we want to grow a community of people who are deeply engaged with what MMM is building and are willing to spread the word in their networks.
About the Work
MMM is preparing to launch. Volunteers joining now will shape how the organization communicates, organizes, and deploys technology in competitive districts. This is founding-team work — substantive, flexible, and, if we do it right, consequential beyond what any of us could accomplish alone.
We will do our best to match your skills and availability to a role that makes genuine use of your time and maximizes your impact.
