    Ending the Silence Presenter

NAMI Ending the Silence is an engaging presentation that helps audience members learn about the warning signs of mental health conditions and what steps to take if you or a loved one are showing symptoms of a mental health condition.

NAMI Ending the Silence presentations include two leaders: one who shares an informative presentation and a young adult with a mental health condition who shares their journey of recovery. Audience members can ask questions and gain understanding of an often-misunderstood topic. Through dialogue, we can help grow the movement to end stigma.

Who can be trained as a presenter?

    These presentations include two leaders:

    1. Lead Presenter (shares informational ETS PowerPoint): Candidates can be a family member, peer, or mental health advocate.
    2. Young Adult (shares their story of walking in recovery with a mental health condition): Candidates are individuals with a mental health condition between the age of 18-35.

NOTE: Candidates must complete an online training session before attending an in-person training.

To become a NAMI Ending the Silence Presenter:

    • You must be someone who is dedicated to helping reduce stigma and providing support and education.
    • You must commit to leading a presentation within 3 months of being certified
    • You must be a NAMI member
    • You must be active in your local NAMI
    • During the application process, you will be asked to provide the email of an Affiliate leader at your local NAMI who can endorse you. If you don't have a connection to your local Affiliate, please still apply.
