Elgin's Food for Seniors program delivers and distributes pre-packaged Food Boxes to local senior citizens in need. We distribute/deliver on the second and fourth Friday of each month. Typically the time investment is 1 to 2 hours, depending on how many boxes you sign-up to deliver.
This is a NO CONTACT delivery.
Volunteer driver pulls up to the food pantry.
Volunteers load the cars.
Driver will be given the delivery sheets for the number of boxes they have requested.
Deliveries are mapped in one general area for convenience.
Each box weighs about 20 - 25 lbs.
Pick-up between 1:30 pm & 2:00 pm.
