Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Volunteer Grant Writer to join our team. In this role, you will research funding opportunities, prepare compelling grant proposals, and help secure resources that allow us to continue making a positive impact in our community. This is a remote, flexible volunteer position ideal for someone looking to gain experience in nonprofit fundraising or apply their writing skills for a meaningful cause.
Key Responsibilities
- Research potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
- Write, edit, and submit persuasive grant proposals that align with our mission and programs.
- Prepare necessary supporting documents for grant applications.
- Track application deadlines, submission statuses, and follow-up communications.
- Collaborate with leadership to gather program details, success stories, and financial data.
- Maintain organized records of submitted proposals and funding outcomes.
Qualifications
- Strong writing, editing, and research skills.
- Ability to translate complex information into clear, compelling narratives.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Prior experience in grant writing, nonprofit fundraising, or related fields is a plus (but not required).
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently and communicating remotely.
- At least 18 years of age or older
Time Commitment
- Flexible hours; approximately 3-5 hours per week, depending on workload and deadlines.
