Share our story in a way that connects people across languages and cultures. The National Archives belongs to everyone — and your voice can help ensure every visitor feels that truth the moment they walk through our doors.

We are seeking Bilingual Spanish Tour Guides who care deeply about community, culture, and connection. In this role, you’ll help Spanish‑speaking families, elders, newcomers, and multigenerational groups feel welcomed, respected, and included in a national space that preserves the story of the United States.

Many visitors arrive with curiosity but also uncertainty — especially those navigating a new language or unfamiliar institution. Your presence helps remove those barriers.

    Job Description:

    • Create Memorable Experiences: Lead engaging, informative, and inclusive in-person tours that bring our history, mission, and values to life for diverse audiences.
    • Expand Access Through Language: Use bilingual fluency in English and Spanish to enhance accessibility, understanding, and connection for visitors.
    • Be a Mission Ambassador: Serve as a welcoming and knowledgeable representative of the organization, ensuring every guest feels informed, respected, and inspired.
    • Foster Cultural Inclusion: Share stories thoughtfully and accurately, honoring diverse perspectives and creating an environment where all visitors feel included.
    • Support Public Engagement: Host scheduled public tours (11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.) and contribute to a positive, professional visitor experience at NHQ.

    Time Commitment:

    • In-person role based at 431 18th Street NW, Washington, D.C.
    • Support scheduled public tours on Wednesday or Friday during traditional business hours.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Detail-Oriented Storyteller: You pay close attention to details and enjoy presenting information clearly and accurately.
    • Confident Communicator: You are comfortable speaking with groups and working independently while representing organizational values.
    • Bilingual & Inclusive: You are fluent in both Spanish and English (reading, writing, and speaking) and enjoy helping make experiences accessible to more people.
    • History Curious: You have a genuine interest in history and enjoy sharing stories that educate and inspire.
    • Tech-Ready: You are comfortable using Microsoft Word and basic office technology.
    • Professional & Responsible: You are willing to comply with current public health guidelines and American Red Cross policies.
    • Ready to Get Started: Submission of a resume.

    Preferred (Not Required):

    • Knowledge of American history
    • Experience in museums, archives, collections, or art handling
