New London Homeless Hospitality Center

Every guest who visits our Help Center has unique circumstances, and our volunteers play an important role in helping them navigate challenges and find solutions.

Help Center Volunteers work in our office and community area, providing practical, hands-on assistance to guests experiencing homelessness or housing instability. No two days are alike, and every interaction is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting guests with computer use and completing online forms.
• Supporting job searches and résumé writing.
• Providing Spanish-language assistance, if bilingual.
• Managing and distributing guest mail.
• Issuing clothing vouchers and bus passes.
• Helping guests obtain important documents, such as birth certificates and identification.
• Working alongside staff and guests to address other individual needs as they arise.

What we're looking for: You don't need to have all the answers! We're looking for compassionate, patient, resourceful volunteers who are willing to listen, think creatively, and work alongside guests to find solutions. Flexibility, resilience, and a willingness to figure things out together are essential.

Volunteer Hours: Monday through Friday, with morning and afternoon shifts available.
