Help Build a Haunted Trail in the Woods From Scratch

Halloween has always been one of my favorite times of year.

A few years ago, I started imagining what our five-acre rescue property could become after dark. Winding woodland trails. Creek crossings. Shadows moving through the trees. The kind of experience that makes people scream, laugh, and talk about it all the way home.

The property already exists.

The vision exists.

Now I'm looking for someone who wants to help bring it to life.

Legacy Paws Rescue is a veteran-owned 501(c)(3) dog rescue and sanctuary in Catawba, NC. We are building our first haunted trail fundraiser and are looking for a creative, hands-on volunteer to help design and lead the experience from concept to opening night.

This isn't a role where you'll be handed a finished plan and asked to execute it.

This is an opportunity to help create something from the ground up.

Our property includes wooded trails, creek crossings, natural terrain, and all the ingredients for an unforgettable haunted experience. What we need is someone who sees possibilities when they walk through the woods.

Someone who starts imagining scenes.

Someone who thinks about atmosphere.

Someone who understands that the best scares aren't always the loudest ones.

Responsibilities may include:

• Designing the overall haunted trail experience
• Creating scenes, storylines, scares, and interactive elements
• Helping source props, materials, and special effects within budget
• Organizing and directing setup and build days
• Recruiting and coordinating volunteer actors and helpers
• Helping oversee event operations during the haunted trail season

Most importantly, we're looking for someone excited by the challenge of building something original.

This role comes with real creative ownership. We are not looking for someone to execute our ideas. We are looking for someone who wants to help shape them.

The fundraiser will support the dogs at Legacy Paws while creating an experience our community can look forward to year after year.
