Volunteer Opportunity: Garden & Grounds Care
Location: Cranaleith Spiritual Center, 13475 Proctor Rd, Philadelphia
Commitment: Flexible, one time or ongoing
About the Role
We are looking for individuals who find peace in the soil and joy in the growth of nature. As a Garden Volunteer, you will help maintain our 10-acre sanctuary, ensuring it remains a sacred space for all who visit.
What You’ll Be Doing
Depending on the season and your interest, tasks may include:
- Vegetable Garden: Planting, weeding, and harvesting produce used in our kitchen and shared with our humanitarian partners.
- Labyrinth & Sacred Spaces: Tidying the paths and weeding around our contemplative walking areas.
- Land Care: Helping with seasonal tasks like spreading wood chips, clearing brush, or watering planters.
- Special Projects: Assisting with our apiary (bees) or planting native trees as part of our sustainability initiatives.
Who We’re Looking For
- No "green thumb" required-we welcome all skill levels!
- Ability to perform light physical work (bending, lifting, or walking the trails).
Perfect for: Individuals, student service hours, employee groups, church groups, or anyone looking to spend time in the garden.
