Syracuse Area Hospice Volunteer Opportunity – Share the Gift of Music 🎵 🎻 🎺

We are looking for compassionate hospice volunteers with musical talents who are willing to share their gift with patients nearing the end of life. Many of our patients become less verbal as their condition progresses, but music can still reach them in a powerful and meaningful way. Hearing is often the last sense to fade, and familiar songs or gentle instrumental music can provide comfort, peace, and connection.

Volunteers who sing or play instruments such as guitar, piano/keyboard, violin, flute, or other portable instruments are especially encouraged to participate. Visits may include playing soft music, singing familiar or requested songs, or simply providing a calming musical presence at the bedside.

You don’t need to be a professional musician—just someone willing to share your talent with kindness and compassion. These visits can bring tremendous comfort not only to patients, but also to their families during a very meaningful time.
