SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT VOLUNTEER - Enhance our presence!
Be the Voice That Inspires Hope. Join a dynamic team that brings the Red Cross mission to life through powerful storytelling. As part of our Communications and Public Affairs team, you won’t just share critical mission delivery information and stories—you’ll shape how communities understand, connect and respond in times of need. Social engagement volunteers interact with supporters on social platforms and help to tell the Red Cross story across social media. Volunteers may be trained to help with tasks like social care, social monitoring, content creation and they may be asked to post from personal or regional social media accounts. Every story you tell has the power to change lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Amplify Our Mission: Showcase timely content and services by highlighting Red Cross services on social media through photos, videos and links to the region’s website or blog.
- Serve as a Voice of Hope: Represent the Red Cross as a trusted social ambassador—sharing stories and information that inspire action and build community trust.
- Be the First Line of Trust: Monitor and respond to social media inquiries with clarity and confidence, ensuring accurate information reaches the public externally as well as Red Cross leaders/supporters internally.
- Create Content That Connects: Creating and scheduling content on regional social media platforms after completing advanced training. This may include sharing live updates from events.
- Storytelling with Purpose: Encouraging and training Red Cross staff and volunteers to use their personal social media accounts to share Red Cross-related information.
- Protect Our Reputation: Monitor for misinformation or risks to the Red Cross brand and work with communications.
