Come join us at USC Hybrid High School for a two-hour fun and informative event where you can learn about all the exciting ways you can get involved and make a difference in your community. Whether you’re interested in helping students shape their college essays as a Writing Coach or guiding them through the admissions process as a College Advising Lead, there are so many ways to make a meaningful impact.
What to Expect:
- Learn about the powerful impact of Minds Matter on students and how you can contribute.
- Hear firsthand from current volunteers and alumni about their experiences.
- Step into a session and get a real sense of what it's like to be a part of our unique community.
Quotes our students have shared:
- "He really fostered my writing to a new level. I am confident that the essay I wrote with his help is my best essay yet."
- "My writing coach always prioritized my ideas when it came to my essays, allowing me to truly express myself and building on my ideas, not the other way around."
- "His well-thought-out schedules always made me feel like I was on the right path. Never did I ever feel that I was so stuck in trying to plan my future because I knew my lead was there."
Are You Ready to Make a Difference? Whether you're seeking a way to give back, connect with your community, or mentor driven and passionate students, this is your chance to learn more and see if we're the right fit for you!
About Minds Matter: Minds Matter connects driven and determined students from low-income families with the people, preparation, and possibilities to succeed in college, create their future, and change the world. Every day we listen, learn, and grow with our students celebrating their voices and uniting behind their dreams. We believe a student’s zip code shouldn’t limit their opportunities for college or life. No matter where our students are from, they have strong visions for where they want to go. We work every day to deliver progressive and tailored programs that empower dreams, cultivate growth, and tackle challenges first generation/first in their family students face in their journey to college. Because college shouldn’t be a barrier - it should be a beginning.
