    Location: Greeneville, Tennessee

Start Date: Immediately (for planning the 2026 market season)

    Position Overview

The Farm Market Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and successful operation of the Greeneville Farmers Market. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys working with local farmers, small business vendors, and the community to create a thriving and enjoyable market experience.

You’ll begin by helping to plan and organize the upcoming 2026 market season—building vendor relationships, scheduling events, and developing marketing ideas that attract shoppers and promote local agriculture.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Market Operations:
    • Oversee all aspects of market setup, sales, customer flow, and cleanup on market days.
    • Vendor Coordination:
    • Communicate with farmers and vendors to ensure a diverse, high-quality selection of local products.
    • Marketing & Promotion:
    • Work with volunteers to develop and implement strategies to increase attendance and visibility, including social media, flyers, and community outreach.
    • Customer Service:
    • Serve as the main point of contact for customers and vendors. Resolve questions and issues professionally and promptly.
    • Market Compliance:
    • Ensure all market operations meet local health, safety, and business regulations.
    • Financial Oversight:
    • Assist the CEO with budgeting, accounting, and reporting of sales and income.
    • Data Reporting:
    • Track and analyze sales and attendance data. Report findings to the board to help improve performance and vendor success.
    • Community Building:
    • Cultivate strong relationships with farmers, vendors, and community partners to maintain a positive and supportive environment.

    Skills & Qualifications

    • Strong organizational and communication skills
    • Comfort with Google Workspace and/or QuickBooks Pro is a plus
    • Event coordination or market management experience preferred
    • Ability to lead and motivate volunteers
    • Commitment to local agriculture, small business, and community growth

    Support Provided

You’ll work closely with the CEO, board of directors, and vendors who are committed to your success. Training, mentorship, and operational support are provided to ensure you’re confident and well-prepared.

    Why Volunteer?

This is a meaningful opportunity to make a real impact on local food systems, community wellness, and small business success. You’ll be the heart of a community institution that’s been serving Greene County families and farmers since the 1940s.
