About Mentor A Promise
Mentor A Promise (MAP) is a New York City–based nonprofit organization serving children and youth experiencing housing instability through mentorship, literacy, social-emotional learning, educational enrichment, workforce development, creative opportunity, advocacy, housing innovation, and community-centered support.
As MAP continues to grow across programs, publishing, media, technology, marketing, housing, and public engagement, maintaining consistency, efficiency, and alignment across brand initiatives becomes increasingly important.

PromiseBrands is MAP's brand strategy, marketing, communications, creative services, audience engagement, social enterprise, and organizational identity division.
The division helps ensure that every public-facing experience reflects the mission, values, quality, and vision of Mentor A Promise.
Role Overview
The Director of Brand Operations serves as the operational leader responsible for managing the systems, workflows, governance structures, planning processes, and organizational coordination that support the success of PromiseBrands.
This role ensures that brand initiatives move efficiently from strategy to execution while maintaining consistency, accountability, quality, and alignment across all marketing, communications, creative, content, and audience engagement functions.
Working closely with the Chief of Brands and senior brand leadership, the Director helps create the operational infrastructure that allows the division to scale effectively while supporting organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Operations & Governance
- Develop and maintain operational systems that support PromiseBrands
- Establish workflows, standards, and brand management processes
- Support brand governance and quality assurance efforts
- Ensure consistency across campaigns, communications, and creative initiatives
- Strengthen organizational alignment and accountability
Planning & Project Management
- Coordinate division-wide planning activities
- Support annual, quarterly, and campaign planning processes
- Track major projects, deliverables, and strategic initiatives
- Monitor deadlines and resource allocation
- Improve execution and operational efficiency
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Serve as a central coordination point across PromiseBrands teams
- Facilitate collaboration between marketing, creative, communications, content, and social enterprise functions
- Support communication between PromiseBrands and other MAP divisions
- Help resolve operational barriers and workflow challenges
- Strengthen organizational transparency and alignment
Brand Systems & Asset Management
- Oversee management of brand resources, templates, and operational tools
- Maintain brand documentation and standards
- Support organization and accessibility of creative assets
- Improve operational processes related to brand management
- Promote consistency across brand touchpoints
Performance & Reporting
- Develop operational dashboards and performance tracking systems
- Monitor project progress and team effectiveness
- Support reporting for leadership and strategic planning
- Identify operational improvement opportunities
- Promote data-informed decision-making
Budget & Resource Coordination
- Support budget planning and resource allocation activities
- Monitor operational needs and project requirements
- Assist leadership with prioritization and capacity planning
- Strengthen operational sustainability across the division
